Parke County Kids Learn How to Treat Medical Emergencies

October 16, 2019 - RHIC Teaches Youth About Emergency Managment
The RHIC teamed up with Parke County EMS and the Purdue Extension office to teach kids about the management of medical emergencies.  First responders from the Parke County Police, Fire, and Ambulance services assisted with the training.  The children learned about 911 EMS response levels, the differences between EMTs, Advanced EMTs, and Paramedics, evaluation of vital signs, and the importance of knowing what to do in an emergency. They also had the chance to get in and learn about ambulances in the RHIC's Mobile Simulation Unit.
